Sharing ideas is a way to make the musical world a little bit more imaginative and a lot less predictable. The world is created each day out of ideas, if we let somone else control our ideas its not our world anymore.
We say why limit yourself? Just because someone tells you that it can't be done, or that it is a really bad idea because nobody have done it before. That doesn't mean that no one should ever try it at all. There is always a way to do everything. If you never try, you will never know.
In music, as in every art form, there is nothing that is impossible. The only limitations there are your own imagination. And if you consider yourself an artist, or at least someone curious enough to try and find out where the road might lead, you wont stop no matter what people tells you.

So if you feel that you want to, just do it and see what you get. Nobody can tell you its bad because if you like it there is at least someone that do, and therefore the need for it to be created is achieved. There's a big chance that there are many more out there that appreciate the same things as you do.

As soon as you struggle to make the things you do to fall into the appreciation of others, you fall out of the boundary of your own creativity, into the world of making others expectations of you come true. So you have to find out what it is really that you want to achieve. Do you want to be the creator of a future maybe, or one of the yesterdays passed.
